Practice
Four practices, one standard of advice.
We are a firm of thirty-four lawyers in two cities. We take fewer matters than we could, so the partner you meet is the partner who does the work.
Contents
- 01 Corporate & commercial p. 04 From the first shareholder agreement to the sale of the company, we draft and negotiate the documents a business is built on, and we tell you which clauses matter and which are noise.
- 02 Employment p. 07 We advise employers on the whole working relationship, from the offer letter to the exit. Most of our work is quiet: contracts and policies that keep disputes from starting.
- 03 Real estate p. 10 We act on commercial property for owners, occupiers, developers and lenders. We read the lease before you sign it, and we read it again when you want to leave.
- 04 Disputes & litigation p. 13 Most disputes end in an agreement. Our job is to get you there on the best terms, and to be ready for court if the other side will not move.
How we charge
Every matter starts with a written estimate. You choose how we charge, and the estimate only changes if you agree to it first.1
Fixed fee
For most transactions and contract work. One price for the whole matter, agreed in writing before we start.
Capped fee
For work that can grow, such as negotiations. You pay for the time spent, never more than the cap.
Hourly rate
For disputes, where the other side sets the pace. A budget for each stage and a report against it every month.
In witness whereof, let's talk.
A first meeting is forty-five minutes, costs nothing and ends with a straight answer: whether you need a lawyer, and if you do, what it should cost.
