Practice / Employment
Employment
We advise employers on the whole working relationship, from the offer letter to the exit. Most of our work is quiet: contracts and policies that keep disputes from starting.
Scope of work
Contracts and handbooks
Employment contracts, consultancy agreements, restrictive covenants and staff policies in plain language.
Restructuring
Redundancy, consultation, transfers of undertakings and changes to terms, planned before they are announced.
Senior exits
Settlement agreements and negotiated departures for directors and senior staff.
Tribunal claims
Defending unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing claims, and settling them when that is wiser.
Recent matters
- 2025 Restructuring of a 400-person logistics business across three sites No tribunal claims 400 staff
- 2023 Negotiated exit of a chief executive with restrictive covenants upheld Agreed without proceedings Senior exit

Questions clients ask
Do you act for employees?
Only for senior executives negotiating an exit. Our practice is built around employers, which avoids conflicts with our clients.
How fast can you review a contract?
A single contract or policy is usually back within three working days, with changes marked and explained.
Can you train our managers?
Yes. Short, practical sessions on hiring, discipline and exits, held at your office or ours.
In witness whereof, let's talk.
A first meeting is forty-five minutes, costs nothing and ends with a straight answer: whether you need a lawyer, and if you do, what it should cost.
